School is out for summer and the kids are counting down the days until camp begins. If your children are anything like mine – they like to be social, to keep busy, and are active and engaging. We transitioned from a busy school year schedule filled with after-school activities galore to a blank slate called summer vacation. While a short break to relax and unwind is always nice and appreciated, summer break goes from June til September and I leave it to summer camp to keep my kids not only occupied this summer, but continually growing, learning and above all – having a blast!
This summer my two kids will be attending Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts and they are so excited to see their friends (new and old!) and explore, learn, create and have FUN at a camp that has been in our local area for 35 years and going strong. I cannot say enough good things about Burn Brae. From the special events to the field trips to themed days like Halloween in July, there is always something to get excited about! The campus is gorgeous and private and provides a true summer camp experience with an atmosphere that feels more like family.
At Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts, campers ages 3-15 can attend the entire summer long going all the way through September 2nd! I can’t tell you how helpful this is for working parents. Burn Brae works with your schedule and your needs and offers non-consecutive weeks, flexible scheduling, and also partial weeks as well. There are some families that send their kids the entire summer and others who attend in between vacations or around work schedules and family visits. Before and after care is also an option for campers that allows even more manageability for busy parents! Burn Brae offers a highly customized schedule that is not only flexible, but sure to impress.
Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts offers something so unique, and an aspect I’ve yet to see at other summer camps in the Philadelphia region. They allow you to pick your Majors and Minors, an idea reminiscent of my college days in Maryland. This allows my kids to attend the same camp but have experiences uniquely tailored to their individual interests! My daughter can’t wait to check out Project Runway and get back into her tennis lessons, while my son is looking forward to creating more clay projects to be fired in the kiln and get back into the Gaga court!
One of my favorite aspects of Burn Brae is Arts Fest, an event that occurs twice a summer where all the musical talents, theatrical performances and artwork created over the course of the summer are showcased in an event you will not want to miss! Family and friends come to witness their children and grandchildren perform on stage and see all the amazing creativity at work that happens at camp! Below are pictures of the campers practicing for Arts Fest shows from last summer.
Do you want to make sure your kids summer experience is one they will never forget? There are still limited spaces available at Burn Brae Day Camp for this summer, extending until September 2nd 2016. Stay tuned to the blog all summer long as I’ll be sharing our experiences and fun camp memories at Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts!
