This week I was lucky enough to attend the Just Between Friends Reading Pre Sale date on Wednesday, April 27th. Located in Body Zone, a huge sports complex, the sale was nothing but impressive. Tons of ample (and free!) parking, friendly volunteers greeting you when you walk in, and even maps with diagrams available to direct you to specific departments and sections if you just want to get down to business.
Need baby gear? Seriously, it is the place to go. I remember all to well just how pricey everything for baby and toddler is and so many items are used for such a short time. There are rooms of pack and plays, strollers, baby jumpers, exersaucers and activity centers. Sections just for onesies, high chairs, shopping cart covers. All items appeared to be in good condition and pricing was on point. Pricing is done by the consignors themselves, so there can be differentials between items – which gives you more opportunities to score some deals.
If you are looking for books and games – it is a mecca of options! There are walls and walls of games, puzzles, activity books and more. My kids both love to read and I’m always looking to add to our in home library. From Star Wars to My Little Pony to American Girl, there are books for every age level and interest. There was even entire tables of brand new Melissa and Doug items at 25% off retail! Get your kids summer reading and activities started early with collecting them a stash of books they will love and enjoy!
With the winter wardrobes being swapped out for spring and summer ones, warm weather clothing was on my mind. My daughter is doing Girls on the Run this year, so active wear is something she needs. There were aisles upon aisles of clothing, all sorted by size and with prices easy to spot. I was impressed with the amount of brand names and new/like new items. I scored her a neon yellow new with tags shirt and found a matching pair of girls athletic shorts in great condition. There are aisles of clothing ranging from fancy dresses to pajamas in every size!
My son is an active kid, always running and playing, which means his shoes take a beating. I feel like I’m always on the look out for new sneaks. My biggest score for him was a brand new in the box pair of size 2 Nike’s for $18. If you have shopped Nike’s at retail, you know that finding them for that price is basically impossible. I was thrilled to score them at the sale and can’t wait for him to break them in this spring!
The JBF Reading sale is going on NOW through April 30th at the Body Zone in Wyomissing. Have you checked out the sale yet? If so, what was your biggest find? Happy shopping and let’s get our kids ready for summer!
