I’ll be the first to admit this: I’m an organizational nightmare when it comes to storing and managing my personal photos and memories, and I’ve paid the price. Having two kids close in age, my now ex-husband was in charge of photos and digital keepsakes, which lead to losing a SAN disk with a years worth of photos- lost and never recovered. In the wake of that event, I lost my son’s baptism photos, first steps, first birthday just to name a few. This is something that sits with me, eats at me, a regret for something I cannot fix and cannot make right.
In recent years, I’ve become much better at uploading pics to my PC and not just keeping them on the mobile device or camera card. Technology has advanced so much since 2008 when my younger child was born. It’s made it easier to make sure you have multiple copies of data and images, but mine are still disorganized. I’m sure like so many busy moms out there, lacking the extra time to do it ourselves and go through each image to organize, file, edit and compile in a way that works for us.
When I heard about MiMedia, it was like a match made in heaven. A way for me to organize my digital memories once and for all – and in ONE awesome and secure location. Yesss!!!
What is MiMedia? Let me tell you. MiMedia is the personal cloud you’ve always dreamed of. You can store all the photos, videos, music and docs you care about most in one location while keeping them safe, organized and accessible on all your different devices. MiMedia is accessible from your phone, tablet, internet and on both iOS and Android platforms. On site, you can easily curate, personalize and reconnect with your digital images.
Since organization has been my area of greatest need, I quickly fell in love with how seamlessly I was able to organize my digital files, which admittedly were quite a mess. Using the one click import feature, I was able to upload pics from Facebook, Dropbox, Google+ and more. MiMedia made it easy for me to organize my media and even offers a step by step tutorial like feature for when you first sign up which helps acclimate you with the program.
So many of my files were misdated or uploaded previously all at once, so dates were not accurate. MiMedia allowed me to sort photos by date so that my memories are in synch and in order of actual occurrence. It was a relief to see how everything effortlessly falls into place when on site.
One area of concern for me was the safety and security of my digital memories and files, since so many of them focus on my two children and their lives. When I go into my account, I’m able to select what photos and videos are shared and with whom, while keeping others securely hidden away. If you replace, upgrade or lose your current device you can still access your files by logging into your account from your new device, so no worries!
Sharing my photos and files is also private using MiMedia’s MiDrive, which allows family and friends to collaborate in their own private space and to create and share visual images and stories. You can invite people to your MiMedia via email and those with access can upload their own pics and videos and chat on site using all devices logged in. How fun is that?

Keep your photos and personal memories somewhere you feel safe, secure and are able to access them whenever and wherever! I’m loving MiMedia and cannot wait to expand my digital photo base by uploading more pics from my Facebook, iPad and personal camera!
