With Mother’s Day approaching, it’s safe to say that most husbands still need to shop for your wives (it’s okay- this is a safe space here!) and with everyone’s busy schedules, there are so many of us Moms who need to shop for our own mothers for this special occasion. Taking a break from the norm or “standard gift” you give every year, make this Mother’s Day the year you surprise her with something she will really love! Something that she will treasure, or use all the time, or maybe a little of both. This guide gives you great options and at affordable price points that Mom will love!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #1: Give mom time to herself to hit the gym or her favorite yoga class after work and let her do it in style with Fitmark Bags! After lugging around the kids gear and sports equipment all weekend, give Mom her own personal space in a look that is stylish (read: the color options are fabulous!).
This Mother’s Day you can pamper her with the transporter backpack. It’ll be the only bag Mom will need all day long with numerous compartments and extras. The transporter backpack is a gym bag, travel bag and meal management bag – all in one! I love how convenient this made my day and I found I spent much less time looking for things before leaving the house in the morning. The separate kicks and laundry bag are perfect for after yoga too!
For lunch or snacks on the go, the transporter backpack comes standard with a removable BOX™ SM, and its dual cool packs and 2 oversized 4-lock seal-tight meal containers. Jealous of the cool lunch time stuff your kids take to school while you carry left-over tupperware and plastic bags? You won’t be green with envy anymore once you have this bag!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #2: Indulgent bath products. I’m loving LOVE by Sarah Walton, who makes the delicious cream “Emma’s Honeysuckle” that feels luxurious and will have your hands smelling like you just walked through the sweetest flower garden. Organic and made by hand using essential oils, Sarah’s line of products are something Mom will love. Check out her Coconut & Lime organic sugar scrub which will leave her skin polished and smooth!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #3: Flowers done right. Flowers can be a beautiful and sentimental gift if given with care and love. On Mother’s Day, wilted and picked over flowers purchased the night before from the 24-hour grocery store need not apply! Make sure they are a color and variety of stem that Mom loves and personally feels special about. This may mean pre-ordering or going to the store early to find and purchase what she likes so you aren’t stuck with the “leftovers.”
Here is a great Mother’s Day hack to keep those precious petals looks beautiful for Sunday! This trick is also ideal for those who have to travel to go and visit Mom and will keep your buds looking beautiful, just like she does!
How Mom Can Keep Her Mother’s Day Bouquet Fresher Longer
According to floriculturists, slightly acidic water (such as 100% natural Lime or Lemon LaCroix sparkling water), will travel up flower stems more rapidly than neutral or basic water, which helps keep flowers hydrated and fresh. But in addition to water, plants need sugar for food, which is why adding a teaspoon of ‘plain old’ table sugar is also recommended.
Hack How To:
1) Depending on size of vase, fill half with regular cold tap water, and the other half with LaCroix lemon or lime sparkling water, or a mixture of both.
2) Add 1 teaspoon of sugar
3) Every 3 days, cut the stems upwards of 1 inch
4) Replace in fresh water, mixed with i.e. LaCroix, and 1 tsp. of sugar
This hack not only is so simple to do but works magic! I love the LaCroix sparkling water and enjoy drinking it as is, mixed with wine or juice or in a cocktail recipe!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #4: Fashion with meaning. I’m loving the new collection from Wear Luck that is both fashionable and inspirational. The goal of the Wear Luck collection is to offer wearable inspiration to women (in all stages of life) to help them stay positive, strive to meet their goals and carry the message forward! Their new “Best Mom” shirt is super soft, bold, and sends a message of love!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #5: A decadent cake that will delight her eyes as well as her taste buds! Made in Heaven Cakes features delicious cakes and cupcakes that are visually stunning and taste like heaven! Victoria Hart, owner of Made in Heaven Cakes has been featured in Oprah, worked with Barney’s on a cake for Christian Louboutin’s birthday, featured in NYMag Weddings, made cakes for Ramy Brooks, Ellen Tracy, and the list goes on. She is the go-to girl for fashion inspired cakes and cupcakes for the industry! If you are looking to WOW Mom this Mother’s Day with a cake that breaks the mold, these are for you!
Mommy Entourage loves the Flower Pot cakes! The Tulip Flower Pot is perfect for Spring and also makes a dramatic center piece for special events and dinners!
Mother’s Day Gift Idea #6: The perfect cup of coffee, brought to her in bed – served to her like she’d get it at Starbucks. Sometimes it is the little things that make a difference. Bring Mom a handmade card made by the kids along with a hot cup of java in a fancy mug and let her stay in bed and enjoy it.
Want to make her morning coffee extra special? Try swapping her regular sugar for Maui Brand Natural Cane Sugar. We first tried them a few weeks ago and I just can’t go back to my old, plain sugar. Grown in the shining sun on the island of Maui, these sugars are premium sourced and slow-batch prepared to give your recipes and morning java the sweetness that will make you smile.
Free of GMO’s, vegan friendly and naturally gluten-free, you can purchase Maui Brand on Amazon. My personal favorite is the Maui Raws (Turbinado Natural Cane Sugar) that has the warm, light brown color of an iced latte.
No matter what gift you give Mom on Mother’s Day, it means the most if it comes from the heart. Mom will appreciate it most when you show you care and give her something that is special, just like her. The best accompaniment to your Mother’s Day gift? If you have small kids make sure to include something the kids drew, pasted, crafted or scribbled on their own. For Moms of older kids and adult children – don’t forget that you are still her baby and she will always appreciate hugs and kisses, whether you are age 3, 13, or 30!
