What’s new in your house? Here at my home, the buzz is all about Science and our newest love, Netflix! As a new member of the #StreamTeam, I’ll be posting about Netflix and sharing how much fun it is to enjoy programming with your kids at home, and easy to use! Even though I’m a blogger, I need my technology easy to figure out and the Roku and Netflix programming is so simple, my 7 year old is able to go and put on shows for her and her brother without any help!
This week, my daughter was given the Science assignment of making her very own robot using recycled materials and items we have around the house. When I first heard this, a chill ran down my spine. A robot?!? I was unsure how we would even get started. But using some construction paper, straws, and empty boxes left over from mail delivery- our “Fashion Robot” was born!
As you can see, you tell the Fashion Robot what color top and you would like to wear and she will go into your closet and coordinate your outfit for you! I wasn’t surprised that my daughter put her own personal touches on her handmade robot and incorporated her love of clothing and fashion. It is just so her.
To keep up with the Science theme, our family has been checking out the Science programming for kids on Netflix! I love the theme we have had going and my kids love the shows. #NetflixKids has so many fun kids shows that the kids enjoy and use their problem solving skills. My kids were engaged watching “Jimmy Neutron” and my son said he loves “Wild Kratts” because “it teaches him stuff!” For me, that’s a win-win.
Here are some Science themed shows for younger kids or the whole family to enjoy!
