When my kids first started packing lunches to go I was clueless as to how to do it. I used full-sized storage containers that were too big and bulky for my kids smaller portions. Then I “graduated” to the kids sandwich containers and plastic baggies for the smaller stuff. But I always hated the waste of using plastic bags and too often the smaller items I used them for got smashed.
I received a LunchBlox kit from Rubbermaid and immediately set out to use it for one of my kids lunches that week. The larger container is perfectly sized for a sandwich and the smaller sized containers were perfect for grapes, cookies, or carrot sticks. LunchBlox actually contains two different size smaller containers, one more appropriate for a fruit or side and the other for an extra like that hummus for the baby carrots or the tomato slices you might add to your sandwich right before eating it.
The best feature of this product is the amount of space it saves because the blocks are stack able. Included in the kit is a Blue Ice pack that is the exact dimensions of the other containers. It is perfect.
In addition to being handy and convenient, Rubbermaid’s LunchBlox are microwave, dishwasher, and freezer-safe as well as BPA-free.
If you get a chance to try these out for your kids school lunches this year, I’d love to hear what you think!
