I am constantly seeing on Facebook and on the message boards moms and dads curious about whether events or attractions are suitable for their kids. Will they sit in their seats? Will the show keep their attention? Are my kids old enough to go to this? With finances tight for most people these days, I think it is important to get the scoop on events BEFORE shelling out the cash for tickets. So… should I put The Harlem Globetrotters on our family’s “to-do” list???
These were questions I also asked myself as a mom before taking my kids to see The Harlem Globetrotters at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia this year. My daughter is all sparkles and ballet shoes. Will something based on basketball be of interest to her or would she get antsy? I already knew my son would love it and that he was a born sports fan. But headed to see the show, part of me was secretly hoping my daughter would love it as well. I was unsure.
Overall, the show was great. The performances were silly and fun and they kept it upbeat the entire time. There was a high level of audience interaction and often times people were brought into the show by the Globetrotters and made a part of the performance. My kids loved the funny antics and my son especially loved the hoop shots. Whether your kids are sports fans or not, the Globetrotters put on a good show and know how to keep the audience entertained. There was even a Globetrotter wearing a tutu at one point. Who would’ve guessed that!
